Just want to announce , there will be a brand new PlayAnime site coming soon. Im about 1/2 way done with it, and plan to have it open in ~2 weeks. There will be some same things, and some new things on the new site.

Heres some things to expect when the new site opens:

All users will have to re-register on the new PlayAnime site. However, I will give all existing members a chance re-register with their existing user names before the name can be taken by any one else. Existing members will get about 1 month to 'claim' their old PlayAnime username before it becomes open for anyone else to register.

If you re-register with the same username , I will be able to transfer your journal entries, and some of your user-submitted content to the new site. I can only transfer some content, and only if you re-register with the same name. All old content will still be saved, so if you want to save any of your old content, I can archive all your user content/journals in a file and send it to you. I just cant guarantee all of it will be re-posted on the new site.

The forums will be starting over new and clean, however I will be saving the old forums, so users can go back and keep reading old posts, and create continuation posts on the new forums.

Some new things to look forward to:

User subscriptions: Subscribe to your friends, and get notified whenever they post new journal entries, new user content, and even new forum topics. So you can always keep up with what your friends are posting.

Favorites: Add your favorite user content, journal entries, and forum posts to a favorites list, so you have quick and easy access to your favorite content. Good for role players to quickly navigate to their favorite role plays as soon as they login.

Best Friends: Add your best friends to a special list, that will always remain at the top of your friends list, so you'll always know your best friends online and last login status. Also they will be listed at the top of your friends list on your profile.

New Profiles: New profile layout and set up to add more options for listing your favorite hobbies and interests. Users will still have the option to customize their profile completely, but users choose to keep the default layout can still have a nice looking user profile.

These are just some of new things to expect on the new PlayAnime, and I look forward to finally getting the new site open. After the new release, there will be about 1 week of beta testing to make sure everything works for existing users, then I plan to have a lot of new users sign up and work on growing this community more.

Im sorry for the missing posts that happened couple weeks ago. The moderator post deleting is not very forgiving, so Im going to make changes to how forums are moderated so this kind of thing wont happen again.
If you lost posts from that incident, please send me message and Ill try to get your post count restored to where it was.

Also there was some problems with the server, so I had to wipe and re-setup the server new, and I wasnt paying attention to how I was making backups, so I'll be changing how backups are made so hopefully we wont have to go back so far.

I want to wish everyone Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Another year almost done, and I want to thank those of you who have stuck around for these last several years, without you, PlayAnime would not be what it is today, and I want to say Welcome to the new people who have joined our community this year.
I do have some ideas coming up next year for the site, and as always, I welcome any suggestions you may have to improve the community here.

The Elf Video on the homepage, I found on another website, and thought it would be fun to post one of a few PlayAnime members. I couldnt get everyone in the video, but you can go create your own little Elf video at ElfYourself

Lets see who can guess all the PlayAnime members in the video, the first person to guess all correctly wins!

I just recently had the security on the server upgraded, including adding mod_security to the server. If you're trying to post something on the site and its not working, please let me know exactly where you were trying to post (forum,shoutbox,journal comment etc..) and the message you were trying to post.

This will help me determine what mod_security is rejecting and possible ways to fix it.
Just know its not me blocking your messages on purpose. If you cant post a message, it just means the server detected something in your message that it thinks could be potentially dangerous for the server.

So please send me feed back on any problems you may be having,

Ive setup the new Jukebox/music player. Go to your member page and click Music Player on left to check it out and let me know what you think. If you have any suggestions to improve would be good.

Also, please send me requests for music to add and I'll add them as soon as possible. I'll only take Anime music related requests for now.

I'll also be adding play lists soon, so users will be able to create their own custom playlist to play, and see other user's playlist! Plus few other features I plan to add, so look forward to that.
